Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have just released a snippet to their new album Skeleton Tree which will be accompanied by a documentary called Once More with Feeling.

Last year Nick Cave was struck with the tragic death of his 15 year-old son Arthur. This is the first time that he has released anything since the accident. Cave hasn’t spoken about the incident (which came as a result of the son falling from a cliff near their house in Brighton). The film hints towards the heavy nature of the film and album.

“What we do want is sort of modifications on the original model. But what happens when an event occurs that is so catastrophic that we just change. We change from the known person to an unknown person. So that when you look at yourself in the mirror do you recognise the person that you were? That the person inside the skin is a different person?”

The documentary Once More with Feeling is directed by Andrew Dominik, who directed such films as Chopper, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Once More with Feeling be released in theatres September 8th, and the album Skeleton Key will be released the following day.
